Hi There,
Just a short intro to let you know what your getting yourself into.
WHAT?
This is a WordPress blog written about using WordPress as a CMS for building full featured websites.
WHY?
I have been a part time front end developer for over 10 years now and over the years i have been told i should be using a WordPress so the clients can update content etc… I have tried it about 6 or 7 times over the years and found it very counter intuitive, Let me be clear I think the team at WordPress has done an amazing job if your using it for its intended purpose making a blog i.e. this one took me under 5 minutes to get it up and post my first post but i want a good CMS for a website a full website i am going to delve deep into WordPress and see if it is posable (pretty sure it is) and more importantly is it worth it.
YES BUT WHY THE BLOG?
there are a few reasons.
- Make me disciplined to do it
- Get feedback on my thoughts/code (im sure both could be improved)
- Have a record of what i have learned so i can quickly and easily find it if needed
- Hopefully become popular and make some money off advertising so i can afford to realy did deep into this subject
WHO?
My name is Mitchell i have been in the it industry since 2000 i like to think i am very proficient in:
- HTML
- CSS
- And UI Design
I have a clear understanding of:
- PHP
- Javascript (mostly jQuery)
And know nothing about:
- WordPress
- copywriting (sorry in advance i failed english miserably at school)
As with all areas of life there is always room for improvement and i am hoeing you the community can fill the gaps to make this a great resource.

It is a work in Progress after i start to generate a decent amount of content i will figure out design around it.
