DIVI by Elegant themes
Really i'm not kidding just buy it stop stuffing around and get into building your site(s) need more convincing article on why coming soon.
Ok lets break it down a bit.
DIVI is not perfect (far from it) and not always the right choice but running an agency that has created hundreds of sites we have found that it is the most well rounded and flexible choice, So much so that of the last 200 site we built 198 were DIVI.
Why wouldn't you use DIVI?
There are two main situations that come into mind that mean you shouldn't use divi.
You have found a perfect template them for your business
You have browsed something like theme forest and one of the themes is exactly what you are after and i mean exactly not even small changes are needed just update the details and thats it after all how ac a multipurpose theme compete with that.
You need highly specific functionality or intergrations
While this doesn't exclude DIVI (quite a lot can be done with custom modules) depending on the level of functionality and amount of data that needs to be processed it may be easier to create in another theme or even framework (like Larvel).
What we hate about DIVI?
There are a few things that suck about divi i will list them and why they are less important than issues in other themes.
Bloated CSS !!!
My biggest pet hate of divi is its bloated css there is so much legacy code in there and it makes the css files huge so much so that if we concatenate them the site breaks on some mobile browsers.
Why do i still recommend DIVI smart concatenation setup in your cache plugin means you can still keep the https requests low and its only css the total size is still way less than the header image the client has picked.
Not enough developer hooks
This means that some of you more out the box site will require a bit of work to make sure everything plays nice this use to be a big problem in DIVI 2.0 and while it still is every version that comes out is moving in the right direction.
What about the other big multipurpose themes?
Over the years i have tried them all most of them do something better than DIVI but if you break it down and look at it as a whole DIVI always comes out on top by a long way (so-far anyway).
Couple that with the community and revenue streams that elegant themes has developed over years its hard to see how anyone could catch up.
